A bit of an overview and musings, as opposed to a review since I'm not the most informed on the late empire. Also a few side by side pictures with some Hat late Romans:

Thanks for this. It's good to see some of the figs and a size comparison.

Thank you! The size difference is not that much. Seemed more on my Hat Greeks and Newline Greeks. But I think the range was older.

No worries guys!

Yes depends on the code newer 20mm codes are a good match to 1/72 and the 1/72 lines such as these were ensured to fit the scale but has sinced moved into 20mm ancient range on the webshop to make it easier to find and since future 20mm are to be essentially 1/72.

In the ancient Greek range earlier codes are smaller but the later Thureophoroi, mercenary hoplites etc seem bigger.

I've been rebasing some Romanised Silvershields using African veterans which are on the small side and the Macedonian command which are closer to Hat 1/72 Macedonians, the sabot on the Africans seemed steep but after basing they seemed fine.

If there are any codes in particular you would liked compared (and I have them!) I'll be happy to post them up. Just let me know somewhere (blog would probably best now notifications work). Also most of my miniatures are in storage for the next few months so that may delay any requests.

Good stuff, this.
Are you aware of the Tumbling Dice figures? I use them, seamlessly, with my HaT & Newline Late Roman gaming.

Oh yes! I've fired an email over to TD to enquire about some of their codes I reckon I'll get a few and some shield packs as I am told their shields are the same height as the Hat shields which will help bring together the various legionaries.

I wasn't aware of the TD stuff. I'll check that out.

Thanks!

John
