Hey guys,

Just a quick post from me this evening – I've painted a battalion of Italian Infantry today for a 6mm scenario i've got planned that takes place in Spain….

Let me know what you think!

I think you are a very good painter with a proper feel for 6mm. I think your choice of Italians is also a nice touch instead of the usual subjects.

Don't mean to be picky, but aren't Italians supposed to be in green uniforms. Maybe they are, it was difficult to tell with the scale.

Looks good to me.

Italian line wore white, not green.

Figs look great and scenario sounds interesting. Will also be interesting to see any developments.

Nice unit – don't seem them often enough on Napoleonic battlefields; they were solid, reliable troops

@ von Schwartz ver2

Green for cavalry, guard and light infantry. Line infantry in white.

Ferg: love the look of your Italians. Very nice and very impressive brush work on the flag!

von Schwartz ver 222 Mar 2021 5:27 p.m. PST

I stand corrected Steamingdave2, but I have an excuse. It's been in excess of 25 years since I put together Eugene's Italian Army 1809 and my memory is not what it used to be. I knew I used a lot of green cuz in addition to the light infantry in the line corps, I put together the entire Italian Guard Corps.

They look nice to me. Great in 6mm.

Glenn Pearce23 Mar 2021 6:41 a.m. PST

It's my understanding that prior to 1806 the Italians were in green uniforms. They wore French style uniforms simply changing the blue for green. In 1806 the line changed to white uniforms. Light infantry regiments and other none line regiments retained the green.

I have an entire Italian army in 6mm to prove it!

And Ferg your figures look great and the flag is over the top!

The guys I see are wearing white. Weird some of you are seeing green.

If I were 20 years younger I might consider doing Nappy in 6mm.
