Hi guys Basing finished on my Romanians, this force was built around a platoon + sized force for Chain of Command, and I will now expand it to a Battalion + sized force for O group, a question, in the first pic, the figures on the left are metal FAA and those on the right are Hat plastic Romanians and converted WWI Germans to Romanians, which to you think are better? I'm leaning towards the plastic Hat figures, I have more of those I can add to the force, for more figures I'm thinking of either Shellhole scenics Romanians in greatcoats, or Strelets Romanians who are also dressed for winter, I have 2 more 38ts in the stash but will need more armour and guns from Shellhole scenics to fill the ranks. Heaps more pics here link

I'll always choose FAA over other brands given their ease of painting (matched only by Britannia), but if you want more realistic proportions there's also SHQ, whose Romanians were sculpted by Tony Boustead of Empress and TQD fame. |

A great looking force, and an army that doesn't see much love from gamers. |

My recollection is that Romanians in WWII wore a rather distinctive helmet, and the Hat figures seem to have captured that better, in my humble opinion. I like the idea of putting packs on the entry markers. Grelber |

The Dutch also used the same helmet. I have included some of them in my pending (for years) Rumanian project in 20mm. |

Yeah, haven't looked at Dutch figs for Romanians yet, is the uniform a similar cut? I'm going to have a bit of a gander, see if they will fit in. |

Gunner Dunbar, why bother with Dutch (who wore a markedly different outfit consisting of puttees and a standing collar) when you have SHQ and SHS to choose from? |

My reasoning is very simple, I prefer as wide I mix of figures as possible and (with 20mm figures) can modify or paint over details in conflict. |

All true, but I should probably collect all the good available Romanians first. |
