I hate slotta figures and slotta bases.

79th PA: Agreed. sponsors more of the 'only buy our stuff' mentality

Agreed! Hate slotta!

Does anyone actually like them?

All my 25/28 figures are mounted on pennies and the slotta are the worse to mount. Need to be cut and filed down then handheld until the superglue sets.

I'm fine with slottas. They generally get me a decent-looking base faster than having to conceal a thick figure base, and I usually use a 3mm/8th inch stand anyway so I can pick up the stand and not the figure. Best alternative is a plastic with no base at all so it can be glued directly to the stand.

If you want me to work up a decent rant, you're going to have to talk scale creep.

Integral bases had so many casting problems. I always felt slotta basing was an improvement.

The tabs are easy to trim away if you don't want them, as in the linked article, leaving nice pegs under the feet suitable for a really good glue bond.
