Hope this is not too political? But it is worth a laugh … and IMO a bit concerning … 🤔 link

Thanks for posting. I would not worry too much. A lot of people and probably not too few elected representatives don't know a lot of things it would be thought would be good to know to do the job they were elected to do. Democracy is messy and a constant learning experience. |

That would be funny, if it were not so sad. Of course in defense(please know that is said in jest) of the congresswoman,it WAS a foreign country 1941-1944, until the 3rd Mar Div and US Army took it back |

Political institutions and the creatures that thrive therein frequently defy logic or common sense. The UK parliament still categorises Welsh as a foreign language apparently. |

I can forgive not knowing Guam's status a lot more than Puerto Rico's. I think the response was a funny way to draw a little attention and poke a fellow rep. Well done. Beats a nasty speech on the floor or a tour on TV to shame. |

But who can forget this? link |
Legion 4 | 17 Mar 2021 8:44 a.m. PST |
Well yeah Bill … Guam ain't that big ! Not to pile on, but here is another one I found very "amusing". And very scary as well, as it would have been very easy for her staff to research this online, etc. But again these are the people who do things that effect our lives … in many cases … sadly … link |

You've only got to look at the Megan "interview" to realise that facts are what some people choose them to be and, once out there, are difficult to correct with the real ones. It's the world… DBDD |

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Germans? Forget it, he's on a roll. |
SBminisguy | 17 Mar 2021 11:14 a.m. PST |
Yeah, Ed, that was amazing -- yet no special "Guam education" visit to him, eh? Rep. Hank Johnson (D) said he feared that stationing 8,000 Marines on Guam would cause the island to 'become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize.' |
SBminisguy | 17 Mar 2021 11:16 a.m. PST |
Btw, IMHO is "Michael F.Q. San Nicolas, a Democrat who serves as Guam's only delegate to the House of Representatives" *really really* cared about Guam, he would be a fierce "China Hawk" who demanded the implementation of more anti-missile and forward defenses in Guam 'cause Chinese military leaders have been quite open about planning to attack the US, opening with a massive assault on Guam… |
Bismarck | 17 Mar 2021 12:48 p.m. PST |
Bill, the "concerned and well informed gentleman" fearing Guam will tip over must be looking at some really heavy set Marines. Why didn't it tip over in 1944 from the 59,000 US troops against the 18,000 Japanese who defended the island? |

duke, I wouldn't have really believed that until I heard it. Legion, I sure must have been in a lot better shape 54 years ago. The M16 sure didn't seem all that heavy. Guess .50 caliber bullets were a lot smaller too back then. :-) Sure kicked less than my beloved M14. |

Duke, did your people elect that one? Mind we had a minister who had a university grade from geography (but she was from the proper student union) saying that Japan is in the southern hemisphere. |

Thanks to dumbing down of education it gets much scarier than this. Eg renaming of schools in San Francisco – thanks to historical illiteracy Lincoln and Washington are now bad guys. link |

There are far too many morons in leadership positions in our government, on both sides of the aisle. |

thanks to historical illiteracy Lincoln and Washington are now bad guys. That is rampant currently with the woke, cancel culture, SJW, BLM, etc., etc., types and their supporters[many in gov't]. They try to put today's standards, etc., on what happened years, decades, and much further back in our history. Madness ! Absolute madness !!!

Orwell was one of the last great western political thinkers in my opinion. Shame his warnings are used by both governments and revisionist groups such as SJWs as a manual on how to undermine democracy. |

We're talking about a congresswoman who wrote that California wildfires were started by the Rothschilds' space lasers. Not knowing that Guam is an American territory is absolutely the least worrying sign of this woman's incompetence and insanity. |

Agree totally … IMO we are watching 1984 and even Animal Farm happening now … as I type this … So much of left-wing thought is a kind of playing with fire by people who don't even know that fire is hot. Kudos to the Guam National Guard for taking that initiative. Yes the congresswoman in the article is a frequent subject of news stories highlighting her dangerous ignorance. Sadly, the other examples show she is not the only lawmaker so afflicted. |

So glad the Guam National Guard is in Washington D.C.. Guam is only about eight thousand miles away; such a good use of tax payers money to federalize those troops and fly them half way around the world to do what exactly. |

Those types pushing this, e.g. the woke, cancel culture, SJW, BLM, Marxists, Socialists, Progressives, Left, Liberal, academics, intellectual elites, 1619, etc., etc., and their supporters[many in gov't]. Are "rewriting", etc., our history to fit their agenda, etc. They don't care … they just want to reshape/"reimagine" the world to fit their narrative, etc. regardless … |
