Hi everybody, I'm helping a local brick&mortar shop owner here in Madrid who need a U.E, non UK based distributor(s) to order Strelets and Hat miniatures. Somebody have any information about it? Hat web have no information and apparently Strelets sends you to Hannant's. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Regards |

Another lot of UK sales lost, then. Perhaps it will be made up for by sales of plastic soldiers in Kenya, or somewhere. |

Another lot of UK sales lost, then. Perhaps it will be made up for by sales of plastic soldiers in Kenya, or somewhere. Only if he finds the alternative he's looking for, which, from the original post, doesn't seem likely. I wonder why….? And by the way, why use Kenya in a negative sense? The world exists outside the EU – in fact, a lot of Europe thrives outside the EU. DBDD |

Hat has a contact email on their site. Has he tried that? |

Not sure Hannants would be any help – they seem to have a lot of out of stock on their plastic figures. |

Hi everybody, Thanks for the inputs Olicana, the owner is really worried by the situation he use to order a lot to the UK but the last UK order under new regulation was kind of nightmarish. As you can imagine he just want to keep selling at reasonable prices and deadlines, incidentally plastic soldiers sets are a good share of his sales. We can only hope that situation will change for the better as the small local commerce is impacted on both sides. Customs formalities and fees are a steep obstacle for a small model kits shop -already a niche market today- even with a loyal customer pool. 79thPA, He already did that with no result however we will try again and I will ask in the Hat Forum too. Who knows… In the other hand I read yesterday in the Benno's figures forum that Strelets forum is temporarily shut down, but we will try again with the contact address in the website. 20thMaine, sadly some UK distributors have ceased temporarily to deal with the E.U countries and Hannant's is one of those, I quote form their website: "There has not been any change in the delivery problems to (and from) the EU. We are sorry but we still do not know when we will be able to re-start sales." I just want to give a hand to a store who have been bringing steadily to us local modelers and wargamers alike great stuff during many years. |

There is a very good reason Ideology and Idiocy begin with the same letter. Similarly Prat & Politician. Find me a government advisor in any government who has any knowledge whatsoever of how a one-person business operates. They even say a company with 50 employees is a 'small business'. Once the new VAT rules come in Europe I wonder if I'll be able to continue selling there. I've read the advice a number of times but none of it applies to me as far as I can tell. |

@PeloBourbon – thanks, I hadn't seen that message. I had half guessed that it was that problem, based on the companies unavailable. |

Darrell, you obviously don't personally trade with EU member states. I do. I know a bit about wargaming in Kenya. Again, you obviously don't. Gamers are very few and far between. That is the reason I chose that location. Anecdote: When discussing Brexit with a far eastern businessman he couldn't believe we were leaving. He said, when he first heard of Brexit, that he had wondered what we had done that was so bad they wanted to kick us out. |

Olicana. Actually, I do. Kenya, I asked you why and you almost got round to answering me but decided to be smart instead. Well, if I'd known that "a Far Eastern businessman" had that opinion, it would have made me reconsider the whole issue. I can see by his remark why he'd chime so comfortably with you. DBDD |

Darrell – a lot of Europe does NOT thrive outside the EU. Iceland, Norway and Lichtenstein are part of the EU Single Market (with a very few sectoral exceptions). Switzerland has a very tight relationship with the EU on the basis of more than 100 bilateral deals. Albania, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia are EU candidate countries, on the way to full EU membership. There are association agreements with Bosnia and Kosovo, as a first step towards membership. Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine are integrated into the Single Market through the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA). Northern Ireland remains part of the EU's Single Market for goods. The UK and Spain have agreed that Gibraltar will be part of the EU's Schengen area, its borders patrolled by personnel from the EU agency Frontex. Andorra and San Marino are in a customs union with the EU, and use the euro. Moldova has a Partnership and Cooperation Agreement with the EU, covering the political, commercial, economic, legal, cultural and scientific spheres. It's government has made clear that EU membership is its major strategic priority. Please stop spreading disinformation. |

Please stop spreading disinformation Hilarious. It would seem, then, that the EU is so easily challenged and discredited that opinions expressed on TMP are considered dangerous enough to be stifled. It can't even a find a President of its commission who isn't a failed, risible nonentity. DBDD |

Darrell – your over the top reaction to a simple statement of facts says much more about you than the EU. |
