Tough and resourceful. The Russians were famous for making vodka anywhere, even in the bathtub. You should sprinkle pepper on the surface and let it sink before drinking it. The pepper would absorb a lot of the toxic chemicals of the fast and not-quite-sterile distilling process.

Just distill the resulting moonshine again and strain it through birch charcoal. It will be a good vodka)))
