I'm about to rebuild my Bronze age Armies and decided, eventually, to use them with the Hail Caesar Rules. Today I was thinking about how I was going to organize my Egyptian Chariots and hit upon the idea of fielding them as individual models= small units. Some how having them race around shooting makes makes more sense to me than having them wheel and maneuver like more formal units. What do people think? Would it look appealing? Does it sound like a more realistic way to use them? |

I am not familiar with Hail Caesar's Rules, and I haven't played an Egyptian army for a long time. My conclusions though was that the Egyptian chariots didn't act individually, but were in fact operating in a pre-planned manner as part of formal units. With hundreds of chariots being driven around kicking up dust a lack of organization would probably have lead to chariots colliding with each other and doing more damage to their own side than the enemy. |

In TtS! we have them as massed lights- big units which fight primarily by shooting, and which fight in a more open order than their foes. |

Reliefs seem to show them operating in lines. |
