This is a force of 1st century AD Germans organised for a certain newish ruleset that apparently I'm not supposed to mention. At least I think it is as I haven't actually got the rules yet! Here they are deployed in front of their village:
There are five groups each of 10 warriors, two groups each with 6 skirmishers, one group of 6 cavalry and 4 leaders/characters.
The warriors:
The chieftain, his son, his standard bearer and a large oafish-looking individual:
The skirmishers. The archers are from Foundry's Dacian range.
The cavalry:
And finally the Germans' secret weapon, the forest:
Needs more trees to be truly scary. The figures are a mixture of Mark Copplestone's beautiful sculpts for Foundry and the very impressive plastic multiparts from Victrix. The Victrix figs are very slightly taller but I think they mix well together. |

Oh, this is nice, really nice. Thank you for showing. And I see, even Karl Marx joined the fight, in the lower right corner.
Or is it Charlton Heston as Moses? |

Lovely stuff. Those Copplestone Germans are holding up really well despite their age. You should probably add the wailing women to your warband though. |

Great work. I was very tempted by the Foundry Germans back in the day. |

Nice looking army and I still think the Copplestone Ancient Germans are the best. Thanks for sharing! |

@Old Glory Hey, I'm quite sure you can't blame us for 'The Troubles'. And especially not for the next ones some ancients seem to dream of, I heard. Blame your cousins over the pond or over the channel, depending on ones perspective.

Germans are always trouble. Varys was a fool but the Romans have more legions on the way! Excellent painting. Cheers! |
