Is this a thing that exists? I'm picturing a set of rulers made of linking parts such that they can curve a specific amount to show where you can place and your ships to in movement. If this doesn't exist yet, I might make a 3d model to print but I assume it's been done. What is it called? |

Star Wars Armada uses something like that. |

General Quarters III has a measuring device with a turn radius at the end. Very useful. |

A number of water and space naval games have either a protractor-esque turning gauge (GQ 1&2, Full Thrust), a ruler that ends in such (GQ 3), a curved movement tool (Star Wars: X-Wing), or a multi-segment ruler like what you describe (Dreadfleet, Star Wars: Armada). The Armada one has a joint that can be set to a 22.5 or 45 degree turn every ~3". |

I have two turn radii, one for ships moving over 20 knots and one for ships moving under 20 knots. They are round disks, one 1" diameter with three tick marks and one 2" diameter with 6 tick marks. You put the circle next to your bridge and keeping the bridge perpendicular to the center of the disk, count out the inches. you do get an extra .1417" if you make a whole 360 degree turn. |
