I don't know if any one else likes these figures, but I am a huge fan of the 25/28mm Battle Honors figures that Old Glory 15s sells for 1859/1866/1870.

Lately I have been wishing that this range of figures could be expanded (wishful thinking I am sure). But if it could be expanded what type of figures would people want to see?

I would love to see:

1. Prussian infantry that could be used for 1866 and 1870
2. Italian infantry for 1859
3. French Cavalry
4. 1870 Bavarian infantry

What would be on your wish list?

Yes. All of what you said.

Considering this range is nearly 25 years old I find it unlikely to be expanded if for nothing else than to match the sculpting style. However, these ranges have held up well and are a great deal for their cost hence how tremendous it would be to see it expanded. I have heard that Prussians were also sculpted but never released…but the molds might still exist? Perhaps someone with more knowledge could comment if this is true….

I am not familiar with 25/28mm Battle Honors, but in case this helps: Shako64 (an Italian company) offers figures for the Garibaldi period. See: shako64.com

I had some figures from their Kickstarter and they are great !

Yes, there are several companies doing figures for this period, if it helps. Probably more than a lot of people realise…

Pirans warriors have extended their Austrian range for 1859. Forgive the plug, but I commissioned the range for myself for my own Wargames, and have since made them available commercially.

I also recommend shako64. I used their recent Kickstarter recently and the Italian/Garibaldi troops are very nice

….I don't see the range ever being expanded at this point, but my 1866 Austrian army is made up almost exclusively from Battle Honors sculpts. I've slide in a few Mirliton and Irregular minis as well.
I used Foundry FPW Prussians, and I am going to proxy in their Bavarians as well and pretend they donned their raupenhelms in 1866!
I have a large pile of Shako46 minis for 1860. They are beautiful figures, but more in line with current sizing and significantly larger than Battle Honors.Foundry minis.

terryb…..I've been aware of your minis going back to the old Heroes of the Dark Ages era. They look nice. DO they scale to Battle Honors/Foundry, or are they on the larger side as 1866 and Northstar are?

I am well aware of the other companies making figures in this period. Some I like and some I don't.

Unfortunately they are all in Europe and I am not a huge fan of paying shipping costs from Europe.

I would love to see a line of figures in the US covering some of these wars and Battle Honors is the only one I know of. I also really like their look and enjoy painting them.

That being said, I realize that the Battle Honor line will likely never expand due to its age. This was more of a what if/wish list type post.

If that is true about the Prussians, I wonder if anyone knows about their whereabouts.

Does anyone know who sculpted the Battle Honor figures?

Unfortunately have no idea if it's true I seem to recall years ago reading that here on TMP….but never heard anything since. As others have mention
lot of other companies have since started their own ranges covering aspects of this period but I agree with you….battle honors still look nice, paint up easy and can't beat the cost if for nothing else ease of accessibility being here in the states. Foundry best compromise as size matches in with battle honors and a large enough order eliminates the shipping cost. If you need/want some Prussians I have spare packages from foundry let me know.

Hi Bargainbindm. Our figures tend to be on the larger side of the scale. Definitely bigger than Foundry and Battle Honours, more in size with Shako64 and slightly smaller than Gringos 40's

…thanks for that Terry! Your minis look very nice. 1859 is on the back burner, but I hope to move it to the front in 2022!

I have also been curious about Cibo's Little Dudes. Those fill some holes for 1859

Olaf……..I understand trying to purchase here in the states. I have just resigned myself to the fact that I will have to order from across the pond on occasion. It's painful when I see shipping charges, but it is what it is!
