An interesting find.

Neat!

It's so strange to think of the connection between two ordinary days three thousand years apart. On one day a guy (presumably) was fishing and lost his spear; he was probably pretty unhappy. On the other day a guy finds a spear that has been sitting under the mud hiding from all of history since before the classical era through the Cold War.

It's also strange to think of all the other stuff people walk over every day without realizing they are with a couple meters of a lost personal possession from thousands of years ago. What someone may have spent a couple days looking for they park their car over.

Very weird.

Wow, that is indeed a fabulous find! The condition is astonishing. On top of that, it's clearly an extremely well-made spearhead— beautiful lines and great workmanship— not something "banged together" for daily use!

Bronze spearheads were cast, IIRC. It is indeed a good example, and interesting that the wooden haft survived, at least enough for carbon-dating.
