I saw them reviewed in WSS andthey look interesting. Got the free download now. Has anyone played yet and what do you think of them?

I am just getting into Vikings and Saxons. I have watched the Ravenfeast rules how to. The rules look simple enough.

I will try out the rules once I have my miniatures painted.

If you give a whirl let us know what you think.

A buddy and I tried an ~400pt game. It was easy and fun, definitely a "B&P" (Beer & Pretzel) game. It is a "true skirmish" game: 1:1 figure:man scale and the "maneuver element" is an individual figure (as opposed to what I call a "grand skirmish" game like Muskets & Tomahawks where it is 1:1, but you have units of 6-16 figs). It has a limited amount of "chrome" – e.g. traits/special abilities.

Fun game, designed to lure new players into tabletop gaming.

I'll try them in a playtest and see what goes on. Looks like a streamlined and simple set of rules.

Had my first games and like them. A bit style over subdstance on the rulebook but who cares as it is free. I don't think any wargamer with some expereince will struggle with them.

Supposedly very simple but that doesn't mean not fun. There is at least one video replay on the LittleWars site to give you an idea of gameplay. The game is designed for brand new miniature gamers but I think would fill the excuse for getting those Vikings on the table.
I recently read one scathing review but it was so biased and insulting to anyone who might enjoy the game that clearly the reviewer had an axe to grind.
