"Billions are at risk of missing out on the digital leap forward, as growing disparities challenge the social fabric. In the medium-term, the global economy will be threatened by the knock-on effects of the coronavirus crisis, while geopolitical stability will be critically fragile over the next 5 to 10 years. Environmental risks continue to threaten: they remain top risks by likelihood and impact in this year's survey…" Full article here link Amicalement Armand

Climate Action failure, they have been claiming that the world is going to end, due to Climate Change, within the 10 or 12 years for the last 50 years, they haven't been right yet. Of course, if they keep saying it long enough, like maybe another 10 or 12 centuries, they're bound to .get it right eventually |

Ten to twelve centuries? Read the lists. Other than the "purple" ones that are IT specific, name one of those risks that hasn't been a problem for the last 10,000 years of recorded history. The Nostradamus Principle says if you say something vague enough, you will be correct. |

I read an article in New Scientist, it must be at least 30 years ago. As global warming increases, more thermal energy goes into the system, not just increasing temperatures. That means not only more rainfall (an obvious by-product of warmer temperatures), but more extreme events of all types, including more extreme cold events. More, and colder, cold winters in Texas. In the UK we are having lots of extreme events; warmest, coldest, wettest and driest. Count your hurricanes ? |

I recall, that in the early 1970s they were claiming all the polar ice caps would be melted in 20mywars and fossil fuels gone. Goverment sold fear and that brings in the money!! |

Count your hurricanes ? Done, after 2005 they forecast that there would be more frequent and more severe hurricanes in the coming decade…guess what? They were wrong…again!! And +1 Old Glory |

It's what I do !!! 😁 If I mentioned what I really thought the worse threats of 2021 are I'd be DH'd for sure ! But many of you can figure out at least some of them, me thinks ! But I would like to paraphrase an old Pogo comic in the news paper, decades ago. "We have met the enemy … and Dey is Us !" link |

No mention of a Wargamers-Found-Mummified-Under-A-Mountain-Of-Lead-Figures Pandemic though. We can rest easy. |
