I've been wanting to upgrade my Plastic Soldier Company PzIVs for a while now. I've found for Chain of Command that I don't use many tanks in a game and so quality has become more important than quantity. With that tank as a possible support in our current Bloody Bucket campaign it has been the perfect excuse to make up a Revell PzIVH and a lovely kit it is too. The only extra is a metal barrel from RB. The crew figures is from AB.

That is nice, especially the schürzen – but are those rubber tracks (the bête noire of tank kits)? Does the commander come out and the hatch close or do you have a separate closed down turret? In the rules I used (and still do for DM style games) it makes a big difference whether the tank is closed down or not. My tanks are all metal, MMS or SHQ – if I were to start again I'd definitely go down the plastic route as metal kits are a pain and the heft I like can easily be produced by gluing some lead shot in the tank hull. My OCD won't let me mix metal and plastic – I wish someone would actually invent a chill pill… |

Very nice. Great work on the subtle weathering. I feel it often gets overdone for vehicles with such a short service life. martin

Tracks are hard plastic, link and length. Not many kits come with the old rubber tracks these days, excepts for old molds from 70s and 80s. That said, with a little work even those tracks can be made to look okay. |

Well done, as usual. I have the model too, but now you have set the bar for painting (as usual). :-) |

I think all of PSC's tracks are hard plastic. |

I think all of PSC's tracks are hard plastic. They are indeed, however this kit is from Revell. It also has hard plastic tracks but link and length, not a single piece like the PSC kits. |
