I was looking through a back issue (January 2006 actually) of Wargames Illustrated the other day. A dangerous thing to do I know, but I came across an article by Mike Siggins – always used to enjoy his column in the magazine. Anyway, he mentioned Falcata miniatures from Spain and said that they had a "superb range" of 20mm Spanish Napoleonics. Well, this was just what I'd been looking for but I figured (forgive the unintentional pun) they were another company that had gone out of business, like Napoleon Miniatures – also a Spanish company, which used to do some very nice 20mm Napoleonic figures.

However, a quick search of the web revealed Jordi Rubio, a military miniatures seller in Barcelona, who had a small range of the figures for sale on his web site. Emailed him but never had a reply.

So my question is, does anyone have any knowledge of Falcata figures (or even have some?) and has anyone bought from Jordi Rubio? Anywhere else I might be able to get them?

(Sorry, the name is misspelt in the heading: it should be 'Falcata').

Apparently, the Falcata line went out of business back in 2008. Take a look at this blog for more details.

If you're after some French infantry I think this eBay listing of 4 lots of 24 at reasonable prices might be Falcata – they look like it but it's a range I'm just not familiar enough with to be sure.

The auction is for Schilling miniatures, which are also nice. Falcata are hard to find. The French and Spanish are worth having, the British less so.

Have you considered Hagen or Black Watch Miniatures? Very dynamic figures coming out from them.

I've just seen this post. I went to Mr Rubio's shop in Barcelona about two years ago. He did have a box of packs of Falcata figures but only Spanish ones. I took the details for a friend and he arranged for someone else to visit and bought a fair proportion of the stock a few months later so there may not be much or any left. Mr Rubio was very helpful but doesn't speak much English (and I don't speak Spanish or Catalan) so if you are still interested, try writing to him in Spanish or French.
