What color/paint do you use for the Crossbowmen helmets. I haven't found anything that I like on a consistent basis and you've captured the look I keep hoping for.

Vallejo steel.
Washed with thinned minwax polyshades tudor. I don't use a black wash on armor. I find it stains it too much. The tudor is similar to Army Painter Dark Tone.
Then the top is lightly dry brushed steel again.

Tamiya Metallic Grey would also work well for a muted armor color. I have used that often in the past as well.
