From the Rev War Talk website.

It's rather silly. Any resemblance to the real American Revolution is strictly coincidental.

Yes it was light hearted and good. As a senior in 1976, my university performed the play Devil's Disciple. It was performed in the round. I played a British soldier. Mainly a guard in the courtroom and gallows scenes. We also changed the set to the fife and drum tune the Grenadiers March. It is still my ring tone. Love it.

I love it! It's a fun little movie. It's based on a George Bernard Shaw play so it's not intended to be a serious depiction of American Revolution. It does make some biting comments on the history and myth-making. As an actor, one of my dream roles would be to play General Burgoyne in a production of this play.
