"2021 UK show dates so far - please add more" Topic

According to the March edition of Miniature Wargames the following shows have been booked:

Hammerhead:
Saturday July 31 @ Newark Showground.

Tabletop Gaming Live:
25-26 September @ Alexandra Palace, London.

Salute:
Saturday 13th November @ ExCel, London.

Warfare:
27-28 November @ Ascot Racecourse.

Of course all these dates should be regarded as provisional as Covid variants could still defeat expectations. I think the organisers should be congratulated for even thinking to run these shows.

Please add further dates on this thread, as and when you hear about them, and let's keep this a running list.

Don't raise your hopes but we may be seeing the beginning of the end.

It looks like they've missed our Battleground show, which is provisionally booked in for Saturday 20th November (Covid permitting!)

We're usually on the last Saturday of November but we've swapped with Warfare for one year as they couldn't get their usual weekend at the new Ascot venue.

There's also the London GT September 24th – 26th, if you like tournament gaming- which I do. :-) I also hope to run some big demo games there.

Border Reiver is provisionally booked for the 4th September at Gateshead International Stadium.

Carronade in Falkirk is provisionally booked for September 25th.

It comes from a good source but please double check with venue or the club concerned. Also bear in mind that any of these dates could be thrown into doubt by Covid restrictions either locally or nationally.

UK wargamers please be aware that while wargaming shows are being scheduled for 2021, other things are still being cancelled.
Crufts dog show, which went ahead in March last year despite the start of Covid, has cancelled its July 2021 event.

Admittedly this is partly due to health concerns among countries which have a higher infection rate than the UK as some competitors come from abroad.
But a Kennel Club survey still found that 63% of people were either 'uncomfortable' or 'unsure' about attending.

Fingers crossed… but let us not assume that everything is back to normal.

Great news!

On a positive note I see that 5000 people attended a concert in Barcelona requiring a negative test and mask to enter. Fingers crossed things are easier here by the Autumn.

Something to look forward to at last, I can see three I will attend.

I really hate to be the person who said this could happen (see March 26 above) but…
The Tabletop Gaming Live event at Ally Pally on 25 and 26 September has cancelled. Today's May edition of Miniature Wargames has confirmed the bad news.
The publisher of both Tabletop Gaming and Miniature Wargames said they felt they would be unable to offer a 'safe and satisfying' event and have reluctantly postponed until 2022. Further information at tabletop gaming.co.uk.
Tickets will rollover or refunds will be offered.

The same edition of Miniature Wargames, on the opposite page, says that Hereward 2021 is happening on Sunday September 5 at The Cresset, Bretton Centre, Peterborough PE3 8DX.

I am making inquiries so cannot [yet] confirm this but there are rumours that one event on the current list above has cancelled or been postponed. Emails have gone out to the group's chair and I hope to let you know by Monday. I hope this is not true.

Further to the above I have contacted two committee members and one has now confirmed back to me that Milton Keynes on May 8 & 9 is OFF.

In a reply a committee member said: "We are currently in talks to reschedule and will post new dates once they are available. Once again we apologise for any inconvenience."
