So what color? There is a guy on Youtube who has many episodes on ww1 who states they were olive drab. Looking on the internet, images show either blue-gray or yellow-brown. I assume the blue-gray is late war. How about early war, any ideas?

Looks like three colors:

An early home spun color, The Kingdom of Serbia was one of the first European countries that introduced olive-gray (SNB) uniforms in 1908.

Then Horizon Blue and Khaki from France and UK:

Grayish, brownish, greenish, and some 2nd Ban Balkan Wars uniforms thrown in for good measure.

Thanks guys! To my eye, the 'olive-gray' looks brown and the gray-green looks pretty much gray. So I'll use a bunch of tints as I'm gaming at 3mm.

79th PA is correct. The turn of the century uniforms were still worn by the 2nd Ban troops, the newest uniforms in olive grey by the 1st Ban, and civilian clothes by the 3rd Ban. The 2nd Ban uniforms were mainly dark blue with arm of service distinctions depending on specific branch -Infantry, cavalry, artillery, and engineers. I sure you can find the specifics online, and an image search should bring up color places from The Balkan Wars.
