… History's Most Mysterious Eras "While writing my latest novel, The Last Odyssey, I discovered a large swath of history that to this day remains fraught with mystery, that remains largely unknown. It's a period of the Bronze Age known as the Greek Dark Ages. This enigmatic era spanned from 1100 B.C. to 800 B.C. To this day, those three centuries continue to confound historians and archaeologists. Little is known about those hundreds of years—except that it was a turbulent and war-torn time. One of the only accounts of this shadowy period is the two lyric poems by Homer: The Iliad and the Odyssey. There are a number of relatively undocumented periods of history. The usual approach among historians is to mention the one or two stories they have, and skip n to whenever their sources become more prolific. They almost never say something like, "Then there's there's 50 year gap with no sources at all, and we have no clue as to what was going on." Grelber Who is clearly a bit cynical today. |

Much like the early middle age ( or dark ages) they throw out most sources as biased. Which lead to a New New Iron age( or golden age) which was better than the ancient era. |
