"Search interface to uniform portal (database)" Topic

As I added more and more photos with annotated tags to the uniform portal ( uniformenportal.de ) I want to have a search-interface with which I may look for the several images stored in the database.

Now I started with a somewhat plainer interface at link where you may choose the country (I think most of the German names are familiar) and "press the button". The result lists gives a table with thumbnails of all images relating to the country, the time period and the title of the image in the uniform portal.

If you click on the thumbnail you'll be directed to the entry in the portal and may check the series it belongs to and of course download several sizes.

I'm sure to add more comfort to the search interface but it is quite tricky and I'm just learning the programming language again.

Excellent Markus.
A couple of points where I grabbed some shots:

1- I wonder if you need offer so many dimensions of downloads- they are so similar I doubt anyone would choose the smaller anyway. I presume they are sized by algorithm?

2- On download, the file name grabbed is the folder title, not the file, so user must copy this first and manually paste in, if wanted.

You're right with the sizes – I've to readjust it. But the title given ist the original file name, I had chosen for it. I must look into the backend of the foto system if there's the possibility to change it.

wow less than half an hour passes and changed already!

Yes I got the download as you say, but the resulting 'automatic' title is the folder name, not the 'item/ plate' itself.

I checked the backend (it is Piwigo – I may really recommend this open source platform!) but I don't have any possibilities to change the file title.

I dive into the support forum, perhaps an expert has an idea.
