The Start of a new year.

Things were looking good until a friend told me of a site selling figures for a very fair price. I went and looked and added 140 ACW 28mm figures to the collection because " I would probably but them eventually"
The end result?

bought – 140 ACW 28mm
painted – 50, LoA French 28mm 24, Little Britons West Indians 40mm 14, Irish Wars 15mm 12.

net – -90 for the month

Converted and painted 5 elephants plus 14 crew

It was an OK month.
I bought 22 human figures and two snakes.
I painted 24 human figures (15 WWII Greeks, seven Bashi-bazouks, an ancient Egyptian, and a Viking), a 75mm mountain howitzer, and some miscellaneous stuff, like a table and two baskets of apples (the last of a Viking feasting set I got from Gripping Beast chronologically rather closer to the battle at Stamford Bridge than I'd like to think). I'm starting out the year in the plus category, even if not by much.

I've been trying to carve out more time for things like painting and reading, and spending less time watching TV.

Last year, though I lost accurate track was pretty good. Painted many more than I bought. This year should be as good. Hopefully I can keep better track this year as I have in the past.

I'm in this year, both to the Pledge and due to lockdown.

So I have a huge basing backlog and am just getting started again after a very long painting drought. The plan is I'll be counting painted and based separately (the based including those I just painted) and report a finished figures total for my YTD. Also included will be tidying up some ebay purchases that I'll assign a painting value depending on how much of a pain they were to do.

I guess I'm counting the lead pile, so 108 pieces taken off the lead pile is -108?

I'm currently working on an AK-47 Repulic force using British modern infantry and Soviet armor to represent a professional force. The painting scheme is very simple and I'm able to crank them out pretty quickly (I'll have 100 more infantry done this week).

I ordered a bunch of 15mm stuff from GZG to 'finish' an NSL company-ish force and militia force.

Fair enough!!
