Do blood tracking lights work in daylight?

Yes, but not well. The contrast gets washed out in daylight. You're going to need a really powerful light an it's still going to be extremely difficult to see. Beyond the $50 USD for a good, strong light if you have another $50 USDK, you can get (or build your own) an electro-optical scanner that can enhance the reflection.

If you also mean outside, still yes. But they are UV lights that reflect of certain components of blood. Unless you are tracking down an animal you shot, and know where the trail starts, there's a lot of other things outdoors that would reflect. Scorpions, for example, depending on where you live.

Blood does not fluoresce in UV light; it absorbs light, so you have a spot/s that are darker than the surrounding surface. It is very useful on red/maroon surfaces in which the reds run together. Yes, they work in the daylight.

A luminol spray will luminesce blood.

Sure they do – unlike UV a blood tracker light is basically an LED flashlights with cyan – blue color that make contrast between dried blood and other things (like, in the woods, sticks and leaves) – so they will work in the daylight

Now the question is, do you have a past that needs looking into?

I advise you not to answer that.

Dude, if you need a blood tracking light to figure out if you've stabbed yourself on a 15mm spear, you need to see a doctor.

Bloodhounds work really well, too, vampires, not so much…

Ummm, why do you ask?

John the OFM01 Feb 2021 8:48 p.m. PST

Yes. That.
If it's for a scenario for a modern Pulp game, the query is perfectly reasonable.
However, if the query is for practical purposes….

A little scary don't ya think?
