Ladies and Gentlemen.

I have recently acquired some vintage 1980s 15mm ancients figures (step army figures – possibly Cuman), and I am told that they were made by a small manufacturer called Island Miniatures, possibly based in Australia.

Do any of you fine people have any intel on Island Miniatures or, even better, if there is a historical source online?

At one point Essex had hold of them. When I got a Tibetan Army from Mr Hood back in the day some of it was Island figs.

in a previous chat – do a search of message boards on here, someone said

My memory may be failing, but weren't Island Miniatures the same lines as Asgard's 15mm? In which case Viking Forge (in the US) or Tabletop Miniatures (UK) would be the current suppliers? Or am I all hosed up?

Thank you both. Appreciated.

Yes, these are probably the old "Asgard" miniatures, now manufactured by (and branded as) Viking Forge.

Check their Catalog, I have a package of Roman Cavalry with different horses labeled as Island Miniatures.

They are indeed the same. A review of Viking Forge's online catalogue clearly identifies the figures I have as Mongols and Pecheneg, so Island Miniatures / Viking Forge. Again, thanks all for the identification.
