Hi guys Several people asked me on my last post, how much do these cost to print, well I got a 500g bottle of resin, it was $36 USD Australian, around $27.50 USD US, and this is what I printed, with enough resin left over for maybe 2 more vehicles, all 1/72, so about $1.71 USD per vehicle/gun, there is some extra cost in LCD and FEP replacement, it probably comes out to around $1.80 USD-$1.90 per. Pretty happy with how these turned out, a couple of small errors here and there, but nothing I can't fix with a bit of green stuff, in this test print we have the following 2x Berliet VUDB 2x Citroen traction 11B (re print to work out kinks) 2x Citroen legere (re print to work out kinks) 2x Citroen U23 2x Laffley S45 1x Command Panhard 1x Panhard 4x W15 Variants 1x Peugeot 301 1x 155mm Mk2 1x 75mm Frances More pics here gunnerswargamming.blogspot.com/2021/01/early-wwii-french-172-vehicle-test.html

Very smart lookng models. The quality looks better than on 1/100 scale the models I have bought in. Is this because the files you print from are higher resolution? Or is it the material you are using (or, indeed, the printer) … I am very interested in this stuff – although a wargamer, I am quite fussy about quality (I'm going to spend a lot of my time prepping and painting the stuff, so prefer it to be as good as it can be, from the start). Phil, I've always felt the same way too! GD, this is one sharp looking project, and enjoying you reviewing your progress for us here. |

Which printer did you use for these? |

Gunner is using a creality LD002R. There are several resin printers on the market now that can produce these high quality prints: Elegoo Mars; Qidi Tech 5.5; etc. The resins are improving all the time too. Robert |

There is only so much my glass shelves can take. What currently keeps me in check is that the models I want in 1/72 are almost unobtainable (M20 A/C, Dodge weapons carrier, ARV on a Lee tank M31 etc). If I could actually fill my shelves with M4A2s, using all the French markings I have amassed, I would be living on my own once more! What fantastic modelling we see above. |

Thanks guys, yes a creality ld002R, not a bad printer, pretty cheap at $250 USD-$300 ustralian, but the print area is a bit small, something like 120-65-160mm, there are other machines that have bigger print areas, I really only need the printer for these rare vehicles, I have a huge stash of plastic kits for the regular stuff. |
