I received some printed figures the other day that were sticky like maybe the resin had not "set". They were a grey resin with lots of support honeycomb. I thought maybe this is typical, and I washed them with soap and water, twice, but it still persisted. So I thought maybe I need to seal it by painting over it, so I primed them with Testors brush-on primer. They are still sticky! Not all over, but in parts. Does anyone know what is causing this? It it just a matter of time, or do they need to be heated, maybe under a warm light? |

I don't do resin prints, but it does sound like a non-cured resin print. From all the vids I watched, it would appear submerging the item into rubbing alcohol of 90%+ proof should cure the sticky resin parts. Good luck! P. |

Iso alcohol to clean and UV light to cure. I hear you can just put them in direct sunlight and it will work, but take longer than a UV lamp. Whoever you bought them from didn't do their job right and you should complain. Frankly I'd ask for replacements or a refund. As a customer it's not your job to clean and cure resin prints. |

From working with hand poured resins, if it is sticky it will likely never cure correctly and cause problems down the road. Why put time into something that may shed paint in the future. Reach out to the vendor and explain the problem. Stuff happens. |

Resin didn't cure. Needs time in front of the UV lamp or in the sun. Leave them sit for a few hours and see if that takes care of it. Otherwise I'd dip it in alcohol for another 30 minutes and then let it sit as per above. Usually that does it for my own resin prints if they don't cure. One other note- before doing the above, try removing the support material. I find that if I run a print with very tightly meshed support, it blocks the UV light from hitting the print properly. |
