I have started a guide to war gaming the 1777 Saratoga Campaign on my blog. It will be done in several installments due to the length of the topic and the amount of information presented.

The guide features orders of battle for both sides, uniform information, etc. The picture below depicts the British Grenadier battalion at Saratoga. The figures are from Fife and Drum Miniatures.

Very ambitious project, can't wait to see the battles

Eager to see it.

I think Burgoyne was doomed once the invasion was delayed. MAYBE if Howe had driven up the Hudson . . . Interior lines are worth a LOT.

Wonderful stuff. The F&D Miniatures are exquisite, and very nicely painted.

Excellent figures!

I'm also doing up Burgoyne's Army but am having fits getting good info on unit strengths, particularly the Brunswick Infantry Battalion v. Barner.

Just how many of them were present on September 19? They had detachments all over the place but I'm having a devil of a time finding anything beyond their campaign start strength.

Any ideas?
