I've recently come into a large collection of Age of Sail ships for Napoleonic/French Rev wars. What famous battles are actually fun to play/make for an interesting scenario. I've already got forces for Trafalgar, but I'd like to go beyond that. Has anyone played the Nile? Algeciras? Glorious 1st of June? Cape St. Vincent? Copenhagen? What battles would you recommend as fun / engaging scenarios for a big convention game (when they are happening again)? |

Pretty much anything that Suffren was involved with has possibilities. |

For single ships, although fictional, Foresters Natividad v. HMS Lydia gives a great game. |

Like HMS Exeter, anything involving Suffren and Hughes in the East Indies. link Here's why I like the campaigns, as a commander of either side you have to be careful, you are thousands of miles for European support. It teaches you not to be too stupidly aggressive. In the meantime here's something to inspire you. link If you want Fleet Action rules, may I recommend, "Admirals" from War Artisan.
