Seeing these fine figures, more than ever I am persuaded that the later tradition of the 35th Regiment (subsq. Royal Sussex) that they had worn white feathers in their hata to commemorate those taken as trophies from the Royal Roussillon, related in some way to the Bourbon white cockade rather than to a fictitious white plume.
