Hi Everyone.. A long Winter full of COVID isolation, no gaming with live groups of people, and the addition of a new 3D printer have really spurred my productivity. I've got two active projects right now.

Mystic Skies: this is a set of rules published in BLASTER magazine Issue 2 (Blaster is an indie rpg/miniatures game magazine put out (I think) by the guys who came up with Gaslands). Mystic Skies is really a variant of Gaslands, in that it uses the same template based movement system, only instead of cars, the player moves magic carpets around. For this project, I have designed some magic carpets and have printed out a bunch of them. I've also printed a few small sky gondolas for some really neat random elements to the game they designed. It's a fun project.

The other project I call "Return to the Yalu River" which is me printing a Japanese and Chinese fleet for the Battle of the Yalu River (1894) at roughly 1:1000 scale. Yalu is a personal favorite of mine-- an obscure naval battle between two Asian fleets on the other side of the world, but with massive implications. I call it "return" to Yalu as I have already made a fleet in 1:2400 scale. I like the larger scale miniatures. It took a couple of tries to get the fleet to print correctly, but the end results look pretty good. I'm not sure what rules I'm going to use for this. I have Fire When Ready, Gridley and the much earlier Metagaming rules with the same name. This also has been a great project for 3D printing.

So that's about it, if you have an interest in how these projects are going, I posted it about it on my blog, the link is here: link

Your games are always fun, Walt.

Thanks, John.. I'm baffled about the multiple posts, apologies for that.. I think it got stuck in POST mode. Wow!

Thanks Walt for pointing me to the Twylite Games files. They have a good collection of ships from more obscure eras.

They do indeed, Greg.. I'm working on the Russo Turkish War after the Yalu fleets. I really like what this guy does.
