I have never heard of this occurring with the UK using gas in WWI in the Mid East ? Someone mentioned it on FB. I tried to look it up but I only found an article in The Guardian. Which I have been told by some here. It is not a reliable source. Gentlemen please enlighten me …

The Guardian is often considered centre-left, and the tone of the article – attacking Churchill – is maybe no surprise (though most would agree that Churchill's career, like the curate's egg, is only good in parts). On the other hand, I would say it's usually reliable as regards facts.
The Guardian article also refers to an article in the Economist, if you prefer their slant.
Wikipedia mentions the use of gas in it's article on the Third Battle of Gaza link with a slightly confused note. It references the official history, which you might wish to follow up on.

I believe they were used in the 2nd battle of Gaza which marked the first time used in theatre. I've seen between 2000-4000 gas shells. IIRC, they were not very effective.

I would have thought Gallipoli.

2nd Gaza. When I ran it as a game the British were very excited indeed to be issued chem to fire at Johnny Turk, not that it did them any good…

Yes, I never heard anything about chem at Gallipoli. That would have only added to the misery, etc.

From what I took away from the Chem rounds used at 2d Gaza, it generally didn't seem to be that effective overall.
