…to improve 'physical, cognitive, perceptive and psychological capacities'

"The French armed forces now have permission to develop "augmented soldiers" following a report from a military ethics committee.

The report, released to the public on Tuesday, considers medical treatments, prosthetics and implants that improve "physical, cognitive, perceptive and psychological capacities," and could allow for location tracking or connectivity with weapons systems and other soldiers…"

I love how they mention China as unethical whilst they authorise creation of super soldiers.

And this from a country that can barely maintain the military it has.

The article also noted that "the US military was spending millions on an advanced implant that would allow a human brain to communicate directly with computers."

No problem with that, having a network chip implanted in your head so that Big Brother can track you 24/7.

As I said before, everyone would want "Super Soldiers". Just some are actually trying to do it some how. I also have said, even though cloning of humans is IIRC "illegal" based on the UN's "guidance"/laws, etc. Someone correctly if I'm wrong about that. old fart

I'm sure certain nations, e.g. Russia and or the PRC will attempt it if they have not already. What goes on in those labs that no one knows about is probably unknown or if otherwise is very classified.

Will or has the US tried to clone humans ? With all our problems currently I just don't see this occurring. But who knows what all goes on at places like Area 51, Dugway Proving Grounds, etc., etc.

And generally the USA does have a number of religious groups, etc., that would be totally against this, based on e.g. Roe vs. Wade, etc., etc.

But again … who really knows ? And if they do … no one is saying anything about it. For obvious reasons …
