Hello everyone,

Since I do not wargame and with all the stuff going on at the moment, I was wondering if anyone played computer games? I have seen some wargames online from Jim Owczarski YouTube page here YouTube link

I used to play in a group of about 20 members on AC Fight Back using a mod called European warfare which was great and lasted about an hour found here link I also have Scourage of War series games such as Waterloo. Those are very fun to play, but I am not a fan of the most popular HITS which only allows you to issue orders as a commander and no other control. Here is a video YouTube link

Does anyone play or is there any interest? As much as I love research and painting miniatures, I do miss the actual fighting you can replicate on computer games.

There are the John Tiller Software Napoleonic campaigns. A number of different groups play them. johntillersoftware.com

Kulm,

I have played them all, and it is a shame Histwar never really panned out into more of a complete game. Total war Rome II is my favorite with all the mods, and I never really enjoyed Napoleon Total War.

Major Mike,

Thank you, I will have to check those out. Looks very interesting!

You might want to take a look at the NTW3 mod for Napoleon Total War.

ntw3 is good but i like masses of troops not just like one long line of troops and little reserves like histwar and scourge of war have tons of troops

Kulm,

I agree Histwar and Scourage of War really give you a feeling for a Napoleonic battle.

If you don't mind gaming solo and your preferred rules use a 1" = 100m scale, then the editor that comes with the Tiller games makes an usable virtual wargames table for Napoleonics. I've used it successfully with Napoleon's Battles and also Age of Eagles. See holditgames.blogspot.com

I found that Histwar and Scourge of War gave me a feeling of developers failing to model a Napoleonic battle beyond the "look".
