Old Glory and Essex' old 25mm ranges are the only things close. The Assault Group has some figures that can be used but most of the line is too late to be medieval.

Any word of any other lines being worked on?

I'd love to see someone like Gripping Beast do a dedicated line.

Cheers

I agree. Part of the problem is that no one has done studies of clothing and equipment changes for the Ottoman Turks over the centuries so it all tends to get lumped together. Even for the renaissance the TAG figures are the Siege of Vienna, late 17th century, I believe. Unsuitable for the 16th century.

Minifigs used to do some Turks dressed like the re-enactors for the 1453 Siege of Constantinople. Agree that Eastern Europe generally is not particularly well served.

I don't think there is a lot of primary information to work from. The Islamic prohibition of people in art (viewed as idolatry) means the Turks weren't leaving pictures behind, and their Christian foes generally didn't see fit to memorialize their defeats in art.

I, too, would like to see somebody like Gripping Beast do some figures for this era. At one point, when Warhammer Ancients was popular, they looked into doing 15th Century Byzantines, which might have led to Ottoman Turks to fight them. Maybe they still have a secret hankerin' to do this era.

I recently got myself a pack of Old Glory armed infantry Ottomans, to see how they fit in with my Italian wars – they are certainly not 25 but 28mm, nice sculpt and castings too (if a bit repetetive – four poses at 30 minis).

When I finally start my project of the early Suleyman Ottomans I will bulk them out with Old Glory and work from there.

Yeah, some of OGs codes are a bit short on pose numbers. The better ones have multimate head poses too.
