Looking for pre-Mongol or post-Mongol medieval Russians – especially good looking heavy cavalry and steppe cavalry. Aside from what's on offer from Old Glory (not a fan of them minis) who else makes them? And while I'm here is there a date when the heavy cavalry started using bows? I've not found any solid info in the books Ive read but am guessing its a post-Mongol developemnt? THANKS GUYS! |

Thank you for replies. I like the Gripping Beast. Fireforge look good too – anyone know what the resin is like? Is it like hard plastic or something different? |

Resin is indeed like a hard plastic. It is hard to cut, and you have to be careful to not sand it without a mask or breathe the dust into your lungs. |

You are right, the Russian heavy cavalry began to actively use the bow in battle after the Mongol invasion. Here are the nice Russians for the 13th century: link |

V&V A bit early and not cheap, but mighty fine miniatures. Sculpt and cast are a++. For medieval Russians, Fireforge++. |
