My 10th / 11th-century Byzantine army in Italy acquired the necessary units of spearmen and archers. These are Fireforge figures. Some archers are converted from spearmen, as there are significantly fewer of them in the set. Together, however, they form a neat unit. In the photos, they are placed on collective Impetus stands. We managed to play some Basic Impetus 2.0 battles between Norman, Arab and Byzantine forces.

I agree, beautiful figures and a very interesting period to game! Are those Fireforge peasants in the bottom pic? I have some of those, very useful figures. |
