While pretty women, most are done up with makeup for the photo shoot. You don't post any information about the models. What's up with that? |

The WAVES are pictured on a Link Blue Box pilot trainer. I've actually "flown" one of those! Grelber |

I just had to get my mom into this. She was the first group of SPARS (woman Coast Guard) to deploy overseas in 1943 and was at Pearl Harbor on VJ Day.
She was a driver and in her spare time, like many others, volunteered to help the wounded in the hospital. She met Al Schmid (Marine Navy Cross Guadalcanal) and got his signature on a dollar bill which I now have. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Schmid Now I know why she was not pleased when I enlisted in the Marines. For many years in the Miami area she was in Veteran Day parades, interviewd by journalists, gave a talk at Southern Command, was invited out the the USCG Base in Maimi Beach and traveled around the US for SPAR reunions and Coast Guard Cutter christenings. I miss her. Wolfhag |

I bet she did. If only someone had a blog dedicated to women warriors, they could pay homage to these pioneers by educating the public about them and their achievements. |
