"The Waffen-SS had started life as a small personal bodyguard to Adolf Hitler, but gradually grew into a military organisation that would eventually form 38 divisions (not all at full strength admittedly) by 1945, and would comprise about 10% of the country's armed forces. After the Army suffered defeats in Russia and North Africa, Hitler increasingly came to rely on the Waffen-SS to bring victories in the war, and much of it performed well, but of course it could not turn the tide of war and was dissolved at the final defeat…"

Those are great looking troops, and I love the poses. Finally, a decent mix of guys in action, sculpted very nicesly. May have to get some of those, and I haven't bought 1/72nd scale troops in years. |

Poses look great. However, there is quite a bit of flash on those samples. I wonder how they clean up? |

These figures immediately looked familiar and now I know why. They are plastic versions of the original Adler metal figures. Like them, these do show some slightly odd helmet shapes, even allowing for the cover, but the end result is superb nonetheless. Best plastics I have seen in ages (even if much work to do with the scalpel) |

Panzershrecks, HMGs and 81mm mortars available in separate sets. 8th Army Platoon also out. Hope there will be Russians? The review indicates that these may be slightly small compared to 1/72…I HOPE so, as my interest in 20mm is for 1/76! I also like the 'chunky' style of the figures…they were sculpted as metal figs. I have just ordered some from PSC. |

The review indicates that these may be slightly small compared to 1/72…I HOPE so, as my interest in 20mm is for 1/76! Plastic Soldier Review has assigned them an Average Height of 22.5mm. In my experience anything under 23mm (using their system) will be good for 1/76, with about 23.5mm being the upper limit depending on the style of figures (eg Caesar). My only concern with these "Ultracast" figures is how well they will mix with other plastics – obviously the sculpting style and their origins mean they will be absolutely great with the smaller 20mm metal lines. |
