In our Air Force building, we would get Marine visitors from time to time. We were always quietly impressed by the fact that their officers would leave our work areas, go into the hallway, and fall into step together. Once they are trained, it's a hard habit to break. Grelber |

Likely because while it occurs, you need time, repetition, and practice to build that cadence. It doesn't happen in 5 minutes. |

I remember reading when the Swiss and landskneht start showing up on battlefields Janissaries disparagingly comment that they were no longer men or warriors, just automatons and machines. Can help but wonder that there were Lords, nights and men at arms who thought the same thing. |
