I am looking for an Alien game for slightly futuristic modern 28mm figures. I'd like them heavily inspired by our current era but with slight modern touch

Any suggestion?

thank you
R.

These spring to mind. UK based though.

Pig Iron miniatures do their near future range.

If you want a bit more armour you might look at their heavy infantry range as well.

I've also been looking for something similar recently, and wanted figures that looked like they would be at home in a near future fight with aliens, but not looking like heavily kitted out soldiers. I wanted something more like a rag tag bunch of adventurers without matching kit. I went with Hasslefree. A lot of great sculpts in their Modern Adventurers and Sci Fi lines, ranging from pulp to militaristic.

Forgot about CP Models.

Good value too. Averages about £2.00 GBP a figure.

Prince Rupert of the Rhine – I kind of dig those Pig Iron figures. Are they more like, say, Warlord Games 28mm, or more like (huge) GW 28mm? Particularly useful would be the separate legs and torsos for conversions.

Jeff@ I don't have any of Pig Iron's near future miniatures. I do have some of their Kolony range though which I find pretty compatible with GW humans(ie cultists and IG). I don't think I own any warlord stuff so I couldn't say how they size up to them.

There used to be some near-future troops on Empress but I'm not seeing them anymore. Pity as I have some and would get more.

Those CP's are pretty cool.

A couple more:
Rebel Minis light mods of the Starship Troopers grunts now known as "Earth Force" have a familiar look.

If you like the Copplestone Casting figures, his earlier versions are available from EM4 and are still dirt cheap.

I like that they have tabs instead of cast-on bases and there are alot of sculpts.

Lastly, for something a bit different. If you like a classic "ALIENS" look, and don't mind something a bit on the small side, the Denizen Mid-tech Troopers really hold up.

They're more like 26mm but they're really well sculpted, dirt cheap and they'll make your aliens look even more imposing by comparison.

to follow up on my question, my research led me to plastic models from Mantic (GCPS faction):
