"After a busy November full of military drills, not least of which took place at sea, Egypt is continuing its training efforts into December and throughout 2021, sending a message about its global reach and capabilities. "The increased number of drills shows that the Egyptian armed forces has the capabilities to conduct all these exercises at the same time," according to Ahmad Eliba, a defense expert at the Egyptian Center for Strategic Studies. The exercises also show off Egypt's strategic deterrence capabilities and weapons systems, he added. Egypt intensified its military drills in November, but the country has been regularly participating in training events for some time now. In July 2019, it carried out the Eagle Salute maneuvers with the navies of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and the United States. In September 2019, it participated in the Red Wave drill with the Royal Saudi Navy and the forces of some other countries bordering the Red Sea. And earlier this year, it was joined by the Royal Saudi Navy for the maritime exercise Morgan-16. Egypt is expected to join these three events during their 2021 versions…" Main page link Amicalement Armand |

I would imagine Egypt could bring some sort of force to bear across the globe. |

I'm not going to buy into the speculation about "global" but I think its pretty obvious that Egypt is bringing pressure to bear on Ethiopia about the massive new dam on the Blue Nile that Ethiopia has built. |

Yep, that little tiff over water could have some bearing on this. |

Egypt has no global reach capabilities. It might have brought two LHDs but it lacks any kind of strategic logistics be it bases or replenishment ships (they have 2 small ancient 4000 ton replenishment ships and no ocean going tankers). The air force too lacks strategic transport capability. There are no aerial tankers and only 2 Il-76 heavy transports (equivalent to old C-141 Starlifter). The navy is a green water navy whilst the air force is still a domestic defence force. |

Egypt like many are only deployable by crossing an adjacent border. However, IIRC, Egypt does or did some UN peacekeeping missions? I'd imagine those forces would be moved by US or other UN assets. Of course as noted they just could be just keeping their units combat ready like all good militaries do. |

Regional but not global. They must be regarded as a local powerhouse. |
