… COMBAT BOOT "Soldiers in the Continental Army under the command of General George Washington lacked cold weather clothing and boots during the frigid winter they spent at Valley Forge (1777– 1778). Their painful struggle showed just how vital basic equipment like footwear was to the success of any military conflict, at home or overseas. The first true boot made for U.S. military service was the Jefferson Boot in 1816, which had the distinctive feature of not differentiating between the left and right foot. Have you any favourite boots?… those who you recomended… Pretty much anything from Redwing Boots, although the Goretex ones are the best. Keep all those little piggies nice and dry!! |

Can't go wrong with Red Wing or Timberland. Both good IMO. Redwing is not cheap, but they last forever if you take care of them and will orthopedically save your lower back if you spend a lot of time working on your feet (truck driver for instance). Great customer support as well. I do miss my old engineer boots, though. You just could not be a self-respecting motorcycle hoodlum without a pair. - – - BTW, Just watched a good video on Caligulae on YouTube. B |
