Anyone have thoughts on manufacturers whose figs are close in the taller height and the bulk of Scruby's 30mm Classic American Revolution figs?

I am especially looking for officers, mounted generals, personalities, etc.

I've heard and seen some about Stadden, Willie's, and such, but would like to hear from someone who has the figs, see comparison pics, etc.

Additional question – do the Historifigs 28mm match the 30mm Scruby's? There's no commentary on that, and the pics have no ruler nearby, unfortunately.

Thanks for any guidance!

I'm sorry: I forgot to mark the text ironic. Historifigs ARE Scruby figures. The owner, whose name escapes me, bought the old Scruby molds and masters.

Yes, Historifigs has the Scruby
"Classic 30mm Soldiers of the Tricorne Era"
line.

They also have another line titled
"HistoriFigs 28mm Soldiers of the Tricorne Era"

My question is do the 28mm Historifigs match up to the Scrubys? I'd say 'no' since they aren't labeled 30mm. But Mike may have decided to call them 28mm for marketing purposes. He has no explanation on the website that I've found yet.

I think the "28mm" are more of a match to lines like Crusade, etc. as far as heft. But a closer match to the old Scruby 30mm would be the figures by the Dayton Painting Consortium marketed as RSM-95. dpcltdcom.org/rsm95_012.htm

I have a 6-figure sample of old Scruby 30mm Napoleonic figures that I got way back in the day. I just compared one with a 28mm RSM-95 figure and they are compatible as far as height and heft. Of course the RSM-95s are much better sculpts than the old Scruby figures.

Thanks ColC.

I've checked out those figs before, and been tempted. Oddly they are marketed as 25mm. If they are pushing the 30mm of the old Scruby's, are they measuring from the shoe to the eyes?

But it is also definitely the bulk. Whether it is realistic or not, a bulkier figure has a lot more eye appeal, hence the 28mm slender historicals by Minden, pumped up to the 28mm "heroic" style of GW, et al.
