I like Clash over Saga but everyone to their own of course.
You did a pretty big game for clash though at over a 1000 points. I think the use points total is around 750 or 800.

one thing I like about Clash over Saga is that you don't have to worry about each army having it's own special rules and abilities from the saga battle board.

That was an interesting comparison, I thought the Saga game looked more like a skirmish, Clash of spears just looks like a game where you use fewer figures to play a standard battle game.
I was thinking for a skirmish action both rules didn't seem to encourage larger numbers of skirmishers or was that the scenario?

While I like the Saga Battle Board, I'm pretty much done with a super hero being the center of the battle.

How do Hero's function in Clash of Spears? Are they leaders or killer units?

Ran: Clash of Spears heroes provide command points that you need to move and help in combat. They are good in fighting but are better off kept safe as losing command points is a bad thing.
John: In both games skirmishers are cheaper in points so a skirmish army will cost more to build. In Saga skirmishers are harder to activate that core troops so you won't want too many. In Clash they could work in large numbers but are easily driven off or killed so their use would depend on the scenario. They do, however, give a bonus in deployment.

I really wanted to like Clash and the rules read well. The problem I have is SAGA is just fun to play everytime. is it realistic, probably not but it is smooth and fast.
