Today I published the first of three series edited by the Vienna Reilly in 1796/97 – it covers the Saxon army of this period on 64 plates. You may study these plates in the "uniform portal" of Napoleon Online at link … with which I achieved over 3,100 images in this portal :-) Greetings from Berlin Markus Stein |

in 1806 the Saxon infantry did wear the Kittel above their uniform coats and seemingly overalls as well.
on Markus site there are other series covering the Saxon army of 1806 well.

As von Winterfeldt wrote I published another contemporary series of Saxon troops published by Hess in 1805/06 before. I re-edited this series and added the plates in the uniform portal at link There you get a feeling of how the Saxons went into war in 1806. Kind regards Markus Stein P.S. as a help for research of the published contemporary series just go at link |
