Hi TMPers,

I recently tested positive for COVID and had to spend 10 days in isolation. Fortunately for me I had no symptoms and it seems that my family escaped infection as well. So far, so good.

But with nothing to do and nowhere to go, I did some painting and solo gaming. I wrote a blog post about it, which you can find here if you like..

but here are some pics to share; I mainly did AWI stuff. In total I got 39 miniatures from bare metal to table ready, and played 2 solo games, and had 1 VERY clean house.

I played two solo games, I tried out Muskets and Tomahawks 2 and did a small RFF battle.

Thanks for looking. Everyone continue to be safe as you can.

Glad you and your family got off lightly, I only had mild/moderate symptoms and it was no laugh!

Good painting and nice looking games!

thanks folks! I know that I am extremely lucky to be in the asymptomatic population. I'm grateful for it.

the whole time was a good shot ion the arm for my AWI project. : )

The miniatures are from Brigade Games.

Those are great figures, and you did a great job.
Brigade has successfully completed an FIW Kickstarter, so more goodies from Lon are on the way.

Do you base coat your figures, then use the dip? They look nice.

Good use of your time; glad you're OK, and hopefully the rest of the family will be as well.

Thanks again guys! I agree that the BG figures are pretty cool. I do like how each one is pretty individualistic. I'm not in the FIW KS, but after this painting spree I did order more AWI figures. : )

@45th, here's how I painted assembled and painted them.
1)glue to base and add concrete patch to make the group texture
2) prime black
3) Paint the miniature. I do a medium shade base color and one highlight to most of the colors / areas but not everything.
4) paint on the Dark Tone Quickshade. this will ruin the brush so I usually wait to do this step till I have a good amount of figures painted up and ready for this step.
5) let dry 24 hours.
6) paint and hightlight the bases.
7)paint on Vallejo Matte Varnish and let dry and hour or two. this also ruins a brush so I always have a supply of cheapo brushes lying around. It's not the most matte finish ever but good enough for gaming.
8) add the flock and what not.

that's probably more detail than you needed. : )

Glad your symptoms were mild and your family stayed safe.

I'd say you made lemonade out of lemons, but it's more like you made Lemon Drops.

Really nice painted figures, I like the dirty look. I am placing an order soon with Brigade Games might pick up a pack or two of AWI…or three…or four…. Nice blog and trial game write ups. Glad you're better.
