New(ish) troll model from Otherworld Miniatures, painted, on my blog.

Remember, kill it with fire. link

Happy Halloween!

Very nicely done. I was thinking of using that figure as Grendel.

Nice job! Really takes me back.

PaulCollins – Otherworld also do a dedicated Grendel: link

Less thin and gangling, for better or worse.

Awesome.

Many of my characters were killed by that same troll.

Reaper does a similar model which I do use as Grendel.

Yea, those trolls were tough to kill. A lot of hit dice and could regenerate hit points.

Thanks for that link kmfrye

Regarding the 'Troll Controversy' in the Article – I'm sure that the D and D Troll was influenced by the Troll in Poul Anderson's Three Hearts and Three Lions. In that book the heroes have difficulty slaying a Troll as it keeps regenerating. They only win when they roll the body into a fire.
