The final French third rate of renown to feature is the Sane designed Tonnant 80-gun ship of the line Indomptable.
A relatively lucky ship in terms of the casualties suffered in comparison to her sisters, seeing action in the Glorious First of June, First and Second Algeciras, Cape Finisterre and Cape Trafalgar, her luck ran out on the 24th October 1805 whilst rescuing crew from Bucentaure outside Cadiz, slipping her cable and running onto rocks.
