I sent Leon at Pendraken a price request for some fairly weird bases:-

33mm x 20mm, 200 pieces
22mm x 20mm, 50 pieces
11mm x 20mm, 50 pieces
44mm x 40mm, 50 pieces

and the like. Oh and some equilateral triangles, a shape not even listed.

Price agreed Monday and they arrived on Saturday, smelling rather lovely.

Recommended supplier.

Good to hear that they arrived safely! Give us a shout if you need anything else at all.

I have to agree 100%. I was notified my order was shipped on the 21st and received it in a week. UK to US! Always fantastic service.

I must agree, too. All my orders have been fulfilled promptly, and efficiently and I have received courteous and helpful replies to my enquiries/requests.

All my armies are Pendraken, and any reinforcements – or other armies – will be too!

They're the nicest bases I've ever used.

In the past I used either beer mats or thick card bought from art supply shops. Besides the hassle of having to cut new bases all the time, and of usually not having any handy when you needed it, you also never knew how porous the card would be from one batch to another. When you added Liquitex or whatever to texture them, quite often, these cardboard bases would go soggy then curl up.

This time, I just worked out the composition of two opposing ~900-figure armies, then what bases this called for and in what size, and then I ordered the whole lot in one go. They don't take up a lot of room, you can prime them the same way you prime the figures, they're all exactly the correct size, and individually they're inexpensive enough that you can waste a few or double them up to even out height differences.

I've been inspired to paint and base two battalions in a week. I had forgotten how tiny Airfix plastics are. Still – only another 60 battalions to go.
